As the founder of Calibration Technologies, he led the company to national prominence, saving clients $17 million and extending the life of their equipment by five years with his Patent Pending Extended Preventive Maintenance Process. The company was successfully sold to Transcat Inc.
Lou’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by his expertise in relationship building, networking, and creating custom business systems. He has developed marketing strategies, critical and strategic thinking skills, and financial acumen, including P&L management, forecasting, and budgeting. Lou is adept at creating positive company cultures, negotiating multiyear six-figure contracts with major pharmaceutical companies like Quest, LabCorp, Bayer, and Colgate, and preparing businesses for sale.
Before his entrepreneurial success, Lou spent 12 years in law enforcement in Colorado as a Field Training Coordinator and SWAT Officer. His law enforcement experience honed his ability to remain authentic and reliable under stress, develop teamwork, and quickly process details to resolve conflicts—skills he seamlessly transitioned to the business world.
Lou is also a certified Human Behavior Consultant through Personality Insights, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. An accomplished public speaker, Lou has delivered personal and business development presentations to audiences exceeding 100,000 people globally, including in Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent, and via live streams to South Africa, Australia, and Europe. His largest audience to date was over 3,000 people.
Lou authored the book “The Forgiveness Effect” and has served in various leadership roles, including as a board member of Unity Charter School, Chairman of the Resource Development Committee at Highpoint University, and on the board of directors for a Georgia nonprofit. Lou is happily married to Leslie, the love of his life, and they recently relocated from New Jersey to just outside metro Atlanta, GA.
